Everything started when Grandma Doris received a new Ford Focus on her birthday in May from Scott, Shelly and "family". She had a dinner party at Benji's and Lolly surprised her by hiding her old Pontiac and parking her new (2001) car in the same spot with a big red bow on top. She was shocked, but I think she knew something was up and played right along. Pictures will come later when I learn how.

May was fun. Micah took a summer intern job in Monterey. Pappa John and Grandma went to Davis to HELP move. Pappa John and Jaden drove together in Pappa's fancy truck with a full load of stuff in the back. One little guy ate 1/2 of a hamburger and fell asleep 10 minutes out of Davis. The drive was easy with Micah leading the gypsy caravan in "Casper" then Mommy, Beckam and Grandma in the middle car, and Pappa John and Jaden bringing up the rear in the fancy truck. We made the journey without mishap and what a destination. Their apartment in Monterey overlooks the Bay and Fisherman's Wharf. You can see the entire south end of the Bay and across to Seaside. Jaden, Beckam and Mommy made new friends at the beach on the second day after breakfast at LouLou's Diner at the municipal pier. Pictures will come later!!

In June, Grandma Sandy and Pappa John went to visit and enjoy the beautiful weather and clear, clean air. Bakersfield in the 100's and Monterey in the 60's. It was beautiful walking to the street fair and watching Jaden and Beckam play with the vendor's monkey. The week end was almost perfect. Sat. night we slept on the air mattress that "doesn't hold air". Every two hours I would wake up flat on the floor and would turn the air pump on to reinflate our bed. It slept good when full of air. The drive home was a little depressing especially when you look at the real estate prices in the area. Sandy figures Paso Robles is close to Bakersfield and Monterey. Nice dream.

In July, James and Carrie did the ultrasound and are having another little sister for Jordyn and Braxton. Girls will RULE at their house.

Mary, Wendy, Veronica and Brady drove to California via Abilene and the Grand Canyon. After three days on the road, they bunked up at Grandma Doris' and got up and went to Disneyland for two days. Road the rides; ate at Rainforest (Thank You MaryLou); saw the Electric light parade; slept at Best Western, got up early and did it again. 8:00am is a good time to ride the rides at Disneyland. Had a nice trip and thanks to James and Carrie, the drive in the Expedition was very comfortable for all six. On Thursday, back in Bakersfield, four of us rafted the Killer Kern as guest of River's End Rafting & Adventure Co.(www.kernriversend.com) and Grandma Doris. The company left on Friday and drove back to Texas via Carlsbad. The went by way of Tom' and Aleen's in Phoenix, and Kim's in Tucson. Mary's most memorable thing about the whole trip was the 120 degree heat in Blythe. When they say it is HOT in Phoenix, they mean hot as HELL. They made it back to Texas on the eighth day. Brady is still alive. Veronica is refreshing her blonde jokes.

Now the HazyLazyDayz are consumed with our newest family member. Grandma Sandy wanted a new computer so now it takes up a lot of time. Unfortunately, she has not had an opportunity to use it and we got it last Thursday. Haven't transferred the old files (pictures) yet, and don't have the new all-in-one printer yet. Between Pappa John and Breanna, Grandma Sandy doesn't get much keyboard time. She has notified relatives of the new email address so her time will come. Signing off so I can say I got something accomplished today.
